Common questions

All questions
What's in the box?

A starter set of 18 essentials for the first 72 hours of a crisis: water treatment, food, warmth, first aid, light and power, tools, and a printed handbook. See every item, with instructions, on the kit page.

Is one box enough for a family?

No. The box is a starter kit for one person. A household needs more water, food and personal items. When you register your interest, you can tell us your household size, which helps us plan family options.

Why is a printed handbook included?

When there is no internet or power, a book still works. The box includes a copy of the survival handbook by Tomáš Forró, a Slovak war reporter who covered the war in Ukraine. Read it now, mark the pages that matter to you and keep it with the kit. See the handbook.

Why are there no brand names?

We describe what each item does and what to look for, not which product to buy. Final suppliers are not chosen yet, and the instructions should stay useful whatever model you end up with.

What do I need to add myself?

Things only you can add: personal medication, glasses, copies of your documents, cash, chargers for your devices, and what your children or pets need. Use our checklist of things to add yourself.
