Your phone is your map, your torch, your contact list and often your source of alerts. During a long power cut it soon runs flat. This power bank keeps it going.

With 10,000 mAh it can charge a typical smartphone about two times. It can also power the headlamp or radio. A built-in solar panel recharges it slowly in sunlight when there is no other power.

Be realistic about solar charging. A small panel adds only a little charge each sunny day. It helps over a long outage, but you should start with the bank fully charged from the mains.

Why it’s in the kit

Mobile networks often keep working longer than mains power, thanks to backup batteries. A charged phone lets you call 112, receive warnings and stay in touch with family. The power bank turns hours of phone use into days.

Storage & maintenance

Store it partly or fully charged in a cool, dry place. Check and recharge it every three months. Lithium batteries age over time. If it holds noticeably less charge after a few years, replace it.

How to use it

  1. Charge it fully at home

Use a USB charger before you store it. The solar panel is a backup, not the main way to charge.

  2. Check the indicator

Press the button to see how much charge is left.

  3. Connect your device

Plug your phone, headlamp or radio into a USB port with the right cable.

  4. Use the sun to top up

Put the panel in direct sunlight, for example on a windowsill or on top of a bag. Expect a full solar charge to take several days.

  5. Save energy

Charge your phone to about 80% and switch it to power-saving mode to make the bank last longer.
